Alcoholics Anonymous or The Big Book

Written by our founding members, it is the primary text of Alcoholics Anonymous and a key element of the ‘simple kit of spiritual tools’ offered by AA to anyone who has the desire to stop drinking.

Daily Reflections

A bedside table favourite containing 365 days worth of quotes from the AA literature and personal stories of recovery. Many AA members wouldn’t start the day without a reading from this book.

12 Steps & 12 TraditionsKnown as the 12 by 12, this is the textbook for taking the 12 steps of recovery on which the AA programme is based. It also explains the guiding principles of the fellowship as set out in the 12 traditions.

As Bill Sees It

Bill Wilson founded AA in Akron Ohio in 1935. This selection of his thoughts and observations on recovery are a window into the insight and wisdom on alcoholism and recovery developed in the early days of AA.

Came to Believe

This book tells through the personal stories of AA members how they came to believe in a power greater than themselves.

Mainstay

Mainstay is our meeting in print. It contains news and views, articles and opinions about AA, alcoholism and recovery. It also lets alcoholics know about events and other things happening in the AA community, both in New Zealand and overseas.

For many AA members it is an important part of their recovery programme. This is especially the case for people who live in isolated communities and are unable to attend regular meetings.

You can read the Sept/Oct issue of Mainstay here .
